The game uses a fixed 4×4 board where hazards are hidden according to specific adjacency rules. Each safe cell is priced based on the exact posterior probability over all consistent layouts. The game offers a 97% expected gross return in the fair support model, which is a mathematical expectation, not a guaranteed win probability.
Board Rules & Hazard Layout
The game is played on a 4×4 board with cells numbered 1–16 in row-major order. A fixed number of hazards are hidden uniformly among complete layouts satisfying a specific constraint: at least one hazard in the eight-neighbour king graph is adjacent to every other hazard. Other hazards do not need to be adjacent to each other.
- Fixed Layout: One complete 4×4 hazard layout is sampled uniformly from the published constraint support of the selected count and stays fixed for the round.
- Visibility: After safe picks, only compatible layouts remain. Cell safety percentages are displayed rounded to one decimal place; pricing uses the unrounded probability.
- Selection: Already revealed cells, proven safe cells, and proven hazards cannot be selected.
Scoring & Probability Pricing
Each selected safe cell is priced from the exact posterior over consistent layouts. The pricing mechanism ensures that the expected gross return remains constant.
| Component | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Initial Gross Value | 0.97 times the original stake |
| Current Value | Current value divided by that cell's safe probability |
| Live Gross Quote | 0.97 times the original support count divided by the surviving support count |
Known-safe cells leave value unchanged; proven hazards are disabled. A hazard returns zero.
Collection & Stopping Rules
Collection is only available after at least one safe pick has been made. The game enforces specific stopping conditions to manage risk and payout.
- Collection: Available after the first safe pick.
- Automatic Collection: Triggered only when no eligible uncertain move remains after a safe pick.
- Prospective Quote Cap:A click whose next gross multiplier exceeds 1,000 is rejected before reveal. The round stays active and unchanged; the cap does not disable the cell button.
- No Automatic Queue: There is no automatic queue for collection beyond the specific auto-settlement condition.
Wallet & Persistence
This demo uses a local virtual wallet. The balance persists through settlement, manual refill, and reload.
- Initial Balance: 1000 virtual coins.
- Restoration: If the idle balance drops below 10, you can manually restore it. This action SETS the balance to exactly 1000, preserving fractional change.
- Fractional Carry: Persists through settlement, manual refill, and reload.
- Unfinished Reload: An unfinished round ends without refund or resume.
Modes & Controls
The demo locks certain controls during active play to ensure the integrity of the mathematical model.
- Stake Selection: Whole stakes of 10, 20, 50, or 100 are available.
- Locked Controls: Settings and refill are locked while active. Sound remains available.
- Availability: Eligible board picks and collect remain available between actions.
Expected Return & Evidence
Every revealed-information strategy has a 97% expected gross return in the fair support model. This is not a win probability. The actual payout math and every mode are recorded in the source-bound mathematical evidence.

Frequently asked questions
Is the hazard layout redrawn after each pick?
No. One complete 4×4 hazard layout is sampled uniformly from the published constraint support of the selected count and stays fixed for the entire round.
What happens if I reload the page during an unfinished round?
An unfinished round ends without refund or resume. The balance persists, but the specific game state for that round is lost.
How does the 1,000× cap work?
A choice with a prospective quote above 1,000 times the original stake is blocked without changing state. This prevents selecting cells with extremely high potential payouts that are mathematically improbable.
